Fashion film | What model Liberty Ross gets up to when Home Alone… potato stamping, bathing fully clothed, all in the name of exploring the idea of PUNK. A beautifully soft rendering of the DIY side that underlies the original punk movement in fashion.
Bridal Couture | Last week was all about pairs (funny since isn’t that what a wedding is all about?) It seems I managed to be inspired by a pair of images for a certain idea: Spring motifs on dresses, lax n louche bridal style, sculptural dress masterpieces (thank you Zac Posen) and finally, twin sets (2 brides standing side by side?)

Resurrection | The label Delpozo has been appearing to me for the last little while. The Fall/Winter 2013 colleciton constantly caught my eye and I was eager to know where this label had come from. I assumed it was emerging.
To my surprise, Delpozo is no new label for it was founded by a designer of the same name in 1974. What is new about Delpozo is the fresh breath of life breathed into it by new Creative Director, Josef Font. As a former architecture student and purveyor of his own label, Josef’s aesthetic of soft structure mixed with femininity resurrects Delpozo. This Spring/Summer collection has me thinking of vintage Balenciaga shapes, mixed with a Raf Simons modernity. The shapes are big but light as if they buoy along. The details are edgy but soft. The style is daring but wearable.

Bridal Couture | Each Monday I pull together 6 of my favourite images from my Bridal Couture | The Edit blog. Last week’s picks were eclectic, it seems I couldn’t just pick one thing but wanted to try it all out. Maybe a case of art imitating life?
The common thread though is this, trying something different, pushing boundaries, embracing edginess, going a little OTT to get your point across.
Forecast | Tiaras! Lately I get this funny feeling tiaras are set to come back in a big way. Crowns are for queens, crowns are oh so grown up and regal. A tiara is something else. The stuff of princesses, youth, dreams, fantasy, prettiness. Even Cara Delevingne is wearing one.
Forecast | If BoF has spotted it, then something is indeed going on. My favourite aesthetic, gothic romance, slithers into high end fashion, weaving its spell with dark undertones and morbid symbology. Here, a few favourite images from my own gothic romance inspiration file.
